Duppy blend style and intellect in expertly-crafted slices of reflective electro-pop.
Crystalline banks of synth and guitar hang suspended over uncompromising basslines as the South East London-based duo deliver their eulogy to emotional integrity. Their brand of intricate, emotive composition draws comparison with Bjork and Portishead whilst the melodic intensity of tracks such as ‘Neverland’ and ‘Paper Queen’ bring to mind the likes of Ladytron and Goldfrapp.
Formed in early 2007, the band revolves around the creative partnership between multi-instrumentalist Olee (vocals / synths / saxophone) and bass-freak Darran Smith (vocals / guitars). With a host of songs already up and running, the duo are currently preparing further material to perform and record over the coming months. They anticipate a strenuous live schedule across London beginning in winter 2007.
